Another EARTHQUAKE!!

On Wed 18th March at 4:30pm..ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE WAS FELT!!!

I woke up at 5am just to bake a birthday cake (mudcake) for my mum for I know she is an early riser. I wanted to surprise her...and so I DID!!

EARTHQUAKE!!!

On March the 6th (today =D) at 9:00pm, an earthquake was felt among hundreds. We felt it too!!!

Is this world coming to an end???

First the red moon, then fires break out in Vic and now AN EARTHQUAKE!!

What next...a black sun (as mentioned in the bible?)?
IS THE WORLD COMING TO AN END ALREADY?! IS JESUS FINALLY GOING TO DECEND?!?!?!

We were having Youth in our house when suddenly we felt shakiness. I looked towards the piano and saw it swaying left and right. At first I didn't know what happened. Only when someone metioned 'earthquake' did I realise we've just experienced for the first time a real life earthquake (thank God it was a small one and not a large one...pheww...)

Solar Eclipse!!

Last night was AWESOME!! The moon was blood red in colour. I took a picture of it:

3rd time...=="

This is the third time I've drank vinegar.
The first time, I drank oil (2 years ago). This is how it happened:
My mum just bought apple juice. I was busy doing something so I had to wait. When I finished whatever I was doing, I went to the kitchen. I asked my mum where the apple juice was. She said on the kitchen counter. I looked for the drink and saw the bottle that looked like the apple juice bottle. Without knowing what it wrote on the sticker, I poured half a cup into my cup and dank a mouthful and swollowed. My mum entered the house. I asked her why the apple juice tasted so weird and showed the the bottle. She freaked out. Then she said "Veryn! You just drank oil!" I had to wash my mouth a few times to get the oil out...

The second time, I drank vinegar (last year):
I wanted hot water and I thought there was hot water in the kettle so i poured it into my cup, drank a mouthful and swollowed. I asked my mum why the water is so sour. She said "VERYN! IT'S VINEGAR IN THERE! NOT WATER!"

The third time, today:
I thought there was hot water in the kettle so I poured half a cup. When I tasted the sourness, I knew it was vinegar since I've done this same old thing before. I quickly spit it out and shouted to my mum, "IS THERE VINEGAR IN THE KETTLE?!?!?!" Alvin, sitting in the living hall, laughed...

Today, after service, we ate lunch at Proud Peacock and after that we went to the Chinese Festival.
We saw a train and Alvin was like "The train's calling you Veryn. Quickly get on it!" and i'm like "ALVIN!!"...LOL

This was after the main lion dance. This lion and 3 others were going around shops collecting money. The money is on the platter with the mandarin in front of it.

SOOO HOTT!!

PANASNYA!!!!!! Its over 40 degrees for us in Australia.
This is known to be the hottest 4 days in a row in a 100 years!!!
Thank gdness the highest it's suppose to reach is 44 degrees, i think...
South Australia (i think again) is reaching up to about 47 degrees..
We are experiencing over 10 degrees hotter than Malaysia without humidity..although we do sweat...not much though..
I DONT WANT TO START SCHOOL NEXT WEEK WITH THIS HEAT! ITS UNBEARABLE!
SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!! And the mozzies and flies are definitely getting on my nerves...EVEN THE SPIDERS!!! DO U KNOW HOW MANY I'VE ALREADY KILLED!?!?!?!

I'm finally 15 in my chinese years!!!
For those who don't know what I mean..I was born on Chinese New Year Eve. (e.g. in chinese yrs this yr, i'm 15 yrs old...in normal yrs this yr, im 14 years old)

Ooohhh!! And 5 more days till I turn 14, following the normal calender..!!! YAY!!!

Sadness for all the Sim's

At 2am, my dad recieved a call. My granddad (ah kong) has just left earth to see God...
I'm happy and sad for him..Why?
I'm happy to know that he can finally meet God and grandma and that he no longer suffers pain.
But I'm sad to know that I will never see Him ever again.

Even as sadness engulfs us...we will always remember him to be our beloved father and ah kong.

Today my family, Steph and Alvin went to the Connellan's house to celebrate Dan's 21st birthday.
umm...i think i'll update the pics tomorrow...LOL! its all in Steph's phone so yea..

MORE Kuih Bangkit!!

As soon as i woke up, i had to make kuih bangkit with my mum..hehe..i woke up very late (nearly 12pm aussie time)


1st step: Frying the flour with pandan leaves


2nd step: Two egg yolks into mixing bowl


3rd step: Adding castor sugar with egg yolk.


4th step: Whisk egg yolk and sugar together


5th step: Add 1 tbsp corn oil (we used peanut oil)


6th step: Alternately mix flour and coconut together into sugar and egg yolk

8th Step: Roll out dough and cut shapes


9th step: Put mixture on tray and into oven


......10 - 15 minutes later...

We had 'new year eve' prayer meeting at the Halstead's place. I didn't know but it was Alvin's 21st birthday (31st Dec)!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S LIKE 21 ALREADY!!! Anyway...after that we count down and as soon as we reach 5, we were like SCREAMING!! Enjoy the pics!!!
